Hi! I am Jinyue (Jerry), a PhD candidate and Maeder Fellow at Princeton University aiming to create a future of better environments. My research area focuses on the water-energy nexus, where I study the interplay between renewable energy transition, AI boom, water use, and resource recovery opportunities. I utilize maps, microbial electrochemistry, analytical chemistry, bioinformatics, techno-economic analysis and life-cycle analysis as tools to analyze and tackle the emerging and persistent environmental problems. I also aim to bridge the gap between academia and a wider audience through GIS-based environmental story telling, as well as constructing open source and aesthetically pleasing environmental atlas for research and public information: take a look at all the maps I’ve made.
When I am not around in lab or in the office, you can find me rock climbing, playing badminton, going on trails or swimming. I am also a saxophonist with years of symphonic band experience.
